Beginning Your Journey

 

Here are a few steps you can take, to help jump start your health and fitness journey…


1. Create A Vision Board - Fill it with pictures that will motivate you to get your body moving.

2. Determine Your Goals - Why are you starting a fitness routine? Are you looking to lose weight? Gain muscle? Improve cardiovascular health? Help your mental health?

3. Make A Commitment to YOURSELF - Make yourself and your health a priority.

4. Start Small - At home stretching/workouts with little to no weight can be a good start. Walking around your neighborhood. Take the stairs instead of an elevator.

5. Make A Schedule - Pick a few days out of the week to workout for around 45 minutes. This will help you make exercise an important part of you day/week. 

6. Grab A Workout Buddy - Working out can be fun when you have someone to do it with. You guys can motivate & push each other.

7. Try A Class - Sometimes, a good way to start is to search for a class you like or may be interested in trying. (Yoga, Cycling, Circuit Training, Zumba, etc)

8. Expect Setbacks - Life always has setbacks. Work can get busy or maybe you have family obligations, no worries! Just remember to not give up.

9. Start A Balanced Diet - Fitness isn’t just about working out, it’s also about how you fuel your body during the day. Start eating plenty of vegetables and fruits, lean protein, complex carbs, and healthy fats. 

10. Congratulate Yourself - Reward yourself, maybe with a massage or a special snack you love after a month straight of sticking to your diet/plan.
